Head of Marketing - Dee Burn

Dee Burn’s role is to provide leadership and direction for the School’s marketing team, which is responsible for promoting the activities of the School as a whole and for supporting and advising Institutes on their marketing initiatives. Dee previously worked as Development & Marketing Officer at the School's Institute of Commonwealth Studies. Prior to this, she worked for one of the largest study abroad centres in the USA, Arcadia University's Center for Education Abroad, based in Philadelphia. She has also worked as an English language teacher in Japan where she was responsible for student recruitment for private language schools in northern Japan. Dee has a BA in American Literature from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and an MA in Organisations & Change from City University, London. She holds a Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Head of Development and Fund-Raising - Valerie James

Valerie James joined the School as Administrator of the Institute of Musical Research in March 2006 after a career in the public and not for profit sectors. Her role as Head of Development for the School is both to oversee the raising of funds for School development projects and to ensure that support is provided for the fundraising initiatives of the Institutes.

Marketing Officer - Agnieszka Gillespie

Agnieszka's role is to support Dee in delivering the marketing vision for the School. Agnieszka previously worked as Marketing Officer for the Institute for the Study of the Americas. She holds an MA in English Literature and Linguistics from the University of Gdansk and is currently studying for the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing.

Marketing officer - Troy Rutt

Troy Rutt’s role is to assist the Marketing Manager in all aspects of promotion of the School’s work. Troy works with the Marketing Team to produce promotional materials for the School whether it be the prospectus, course brochures or advertising events. Troy is responsible for organising the Dean’s Seminar as well as maintaining the Alumni Database. Troy assists with the recording and uploading of events onto the School’s Event Pages. Troy works two days a week in the Marketing Office and the remaining time is the Events & Publicity Officer at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies. Before joining the School, Troy worked at City University, Birkbeck College and the University of Leicester primarily in admissions and registry roles. Troy has a BA in History from the University of Leicester and a MA in Comparative History of Early Modern European Societies from Birkbeck College, University of London.
